| Well, Casey's team just requested and got another filing extension on their brief; this time until June 30. This is like sitting and watching a glacier melt! |

| The gov't's final response was filed yesterday. I guess the next step is oral arguments and then at long last a decision. |

Everyone should be mindful that in the Sixth Circuit local rules, oral arguments are not mandatory, and the court could rule solely on the briefs. Although I really expect oral arguments in this case due to the complexity of the issues, they are not mandatory.
I will state that the Casey dream team argued the briefs well, and shot down the Government's main arguments. I see a reversal here (or at least a status quo on the sentence, which the government wants increased). |
